Our Educator

Meet Connie

With more than 20 years of experience in childcare, Connie is a warm, compassionate, and outgoing educator who is deeply committed to the value of early learning in nature.

As the mother of five children, she has seen firsthand how the natural world inspires curiosity, confidence, resilience, and meaningful learning. She believes nature is not simply a setting for play, but an essential teacher that encourages children to explore, question, and grow.

For years, Connie owned and operated a much-loved daycare on Vancouver Island, where she combined her passion for the outdoors with her dedication to nurturing children’s development. Her work has always been guided by the belief that children thrive when given the freedom to move, imagine, and discover in natural environments.

An avid outdoor adventurer, Connie has explored the West Coast extensively, completing many multi-day hikes through rugged and remote landscapes. These experiences have strengthened her belief in the transformative power of nature to support learning, wellbeing, and a lasting connection to the outdoor world around us.

At Little Trailblazers, Connie creates a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children are encouraged to play, explore, and discover. Through hands-on, creative experiences, she supports the development of critical thinking, collaboration, self-regulation, and age-appropriate cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth.

With her wealth of experience and genuine love of the outdoors, Connie brings a heartfelt commitment to helping children learn and grow outdoors in nature.

“Some of my most impactful and lasting learnings, along with my greatest lifelong friendships have all been founded in nature.”
